Courage. Hope. Trust. Life…Love. Inspired by what the It Gets Better Project did for LGBT youth, Windy City Gay Chorus and Aria proudly present “It Gets Better: The Concert”, under the direction of Paul Caldwell, Artistic Director.
We’ve all faced obstacles growing up, but LGBT youth face even greater challenges — from relentless bullying from other kids to abandonment and alienation by their own families in all too many instances. “It Gets Better: The Concert” is a musical testament to the power of song to move hearts and change minds, and to show us all how love and happiness can be a reality. With the support of openly gay and lesbian adults, mentors and straight allies in our lives, there is hope for a positive future that’s strong, beautiful, and powerful!
The concert features the premiere of You Are Beautiful (Vy Prekrassny), a new choral work by Paul Caldwell and Sean Ivory, that will become the framework for a music video offering support for the gay community in Russia as they struggle to find hope under newly-legislated oppression.
“It Gets Better: The Concert” is a journey of inspiring music and stories presented to remind us all that we are not alone and that it WILL get better!
