A Perfect Partnership for our Holiday Concert

This year marks our 35th Season, and we could think of no better way to celebrate such a milestone than to return to where it all began. On December 16, 1979 the Windy City Gay Chorus made its concert debut at Don We Now…, and thirty-five years later both of our ensembles will take the stage for an evening of holiday magic. From the traditional melodies of Deck the Halls and Jingle Bells to the less traditional A PC Christmas and Hanukkah in Santa Monica, there is sure to be at least favorite or two on the list.

In conjunction with Don We Now…, WCPA continues its artistic activism by partnering with another organization celebrating a milestone anniversary – Vital Bridges. 25 years ago, volunteers mobilized across metropolitan Chicago to help their friends, family members and colleagues who were battling HIV/AIDS. Their efforts and dedication to provide food, shelter, care and education about HIV grew and expanded, becoming Vital Bridges. Today, the organization serves nearly 1,800 people impacted by the epidemic annually. Since their founding in 1988, Vital Bridges has provided more than 11 million meals, 600,000 nights of shelter and 250,000 hours of counseling to over 10,000 people. In addition to donating a portion of the ticket sales, WCPA members are volunteering many hours during the month of December to assist Vital Bridges in ensuring that everyone’s holiday season is merry and bright!

With our feet planted solidly on the foundation of our past, we look to the future and all the possibilities it brings. We hope you will join us for what is sure to be a magical holiday event and a great kickoff to our 35th Season!
